"A perfect glimpse into America’s other half"- HaveUHeard -Celebrity News
It's the 1990s. 16-year-old Roshell McRady dances her way through High School, never quite admitting that she’s ashamed of her trailer
park family home.
She listens to Madonna while wondering why girls her age swap BFFs about as often as some boys change their dirty socks; she empties
enough hairspray until her bangs are feathered and vertical like a lethal weapon; and she agonizes over how to convince Gabriel Harrison, the new Mystery Guy in town, to invite her to the prom - a night which threatens to turn into a disaster.
But then life takes a dramatic turn for Roshell, and her life changes forever.
A love story emerges from the anguish of Roshell's life, and when she leaves school and finds work at a casino, things don't get any less complicated for her - until one night a powerful dream marks out the exact path that she must take.

A well balanced mix of love and suspense, the story is captivating and entertaining. Can't wait for the sequel. Highly recommended!! April 03, 2011 Five Stars from Anonymous - Amazing! This book was amazing. I was intrigued with the characters and the story!! I couldn't put this book down. I had to know what was going to happen next!! I highly reccomend this book!! Loved this book!, April 17, 2011 By Lisa - I received my copy of His Salvation Friday night...began reading on Saturday and finished Sunday morning. I couldn't put it down. It was an easy read, but entertaining at the same time while being descriptive enough to captivate. The love story was amazing and refreshing. But the book was even more than that. All the characters were honorable and loveable, but it was written with reality in mind - not a fantasy world. I look forward to Michelle's next release - she is a promising author with unlimited potential! Buy it, read it....you won't be disappointed. Definitely one that gets you thinking, April 27, 2011 By Moi (OR USA) - Not only did I enjoy the book, but it really makes you stop and think about some very real issues. It was a quick read, but still descriptive and well researched (something that I'd appreciate in more books). Frankly, the only problem I can find with the book is that I wish it was longer...I wanted to keep on reading about these interesting characters. A good read. FUN and EXCITING! A PAGE TURNER!, April 13, 2011 By Roebene - A refreshing take on long lost love intermingled with the thrill of a murder mystery! I love Seth and Krista's relationship. Finally, a book that doesn't dwell on lies and misunderstandings to draw out the story line... a trend that seems to plague so many books written these days. I would highly recommend this book! The action sequences keep the book moving along while we still get a chance to get to know and fall in love with the characters! |
No one knows the heart and mind of a Soldier. Every day they must face scenarios and life choices that most of us will never even imagine. When Rory Nichols joins the Army, this hard lesson hits hard and fast. After 911, he is deployed to Iraq. He and his wife, Emily, face sacrifice and strife which they fear their young marriage may not survive. Pushed to his limits, Rory begins to ask questions. Then one day, he receives a fateful phone call relaying the most wicked of betrayals. He rushes home to face an enemy he had not predicted. In this penultimate moment he will right a wrong and stand for what he believes at all costs; making a statement to his country, to his family, and to all victims of this seething crime. It is a story of life, love, and rising above the acts of war and abuse. “Michelle Bellon has written a provocative, hard-hitting novel that touches on two of the most challenging issues facing America today… With a true multi-generational appeal, this novel will spark debate in many circles. There are the direct costs of lives, limbs and munitions, which are generally part of the public record. Less widely disseminated and discussed are the indirect costs to the lives of the people directly and indirectly involved. Months or years are taken out of the soldier's lives, time for marriages to strain and dissolve, children to forget what their parent looks like, jobs to be changed and bills to accrue. There is also the change in the mental state of the returning soldiers, those that experienced the stress and imagery of combat retain those experiences and they are burned into their minds at a subsurface level. This book is about the lives of two soldiers that went to Iraq and returned restructured. Bellon made a wise decision to have two personalities; this allowed her to characterize two different situations, the man that enlisted to pay his bills and the man that enlisted because that is what men in his family did. She also describes the doubts that the soldiers have while in the field, wondering what the real purpose is, asking questions as to why they did the killing they did. Although the two soldiers have different personalities and express themselves in different ways, the common experience of war binds them together yet causes them to drift apart after they return home. They are essentially on their own, there is no government program to ease them back into civilian life or help them deal with the lasting images. No dollar amount can be placed on the psychological costs of war to those that fight it and then live with them when they return. For non-combatants to understand the strain and better cope, they need to see things from the perspective of the ex-soldier as much as possible. This book will help that to some extent, but of course that is a very hard task. *Amazing. I truly loved this book!! Michelle's writing brings you in quickly and makes you love the characters!! Not to sound cheesy but I laughed with them. I cried with them. I felt like these were people that I knew and loved!! I highly recommend this book to everyone its a must read!!
